Leeson Road closure from the east

New Facebook group launched in wake of Bonchurch landslide and road closure

A new Facebook Group has been formed following the Bonchurch landslide and closure of Leeson Road.

‘Keep Ventnor Moving’ (referring to traffic, not landslides) aims to be a place for discussion and information for people and businesses whose lives and livelihoods have been affected by the Bonchurch Landslip and subsequent closure of Leeson Road.

Aims of the group
The aims of the group are:

  • To investigate the possibility, and safety, of opening Leeson Road to pedestrian access, light traffic and, eventually, full access.
  • To liaise with the relevant authorities, who are working to get Leeson Road open when safe, and to coordinate and disseminate information from, and to, them and our communities.
  • To inform the wider communities and businesses in and around Ventnor of time scales for planned works by the authorities.
  • To relay to the authorities any concerns from our members and to highlight the effects the road closures are having on people’s daily lives and businesses.
  • To work with all relevant partners/authorities to push for central government funding.
  • To fully support The A3055 Group in their endeavours to re-open Undercliff Drive to through traffic.

If you have a Facebook account you can request join Keep Ventnor Moving.
