Paul Armfield: Five things you shouldn’t miss at Bestival

We’re big fans of Paul Armfield’s work and thought he would have a great insight on who you shouldn’t miss if you’re going to Bestival this week. Paul play will be playing live at 2.30pm on Friday at the Bandstand. Ed

Apart from Stevie Wonder, Sigur Ros and myself which everyone knows are must sees, I’ll be making a beeline for:

1. Michael Kiwanuka, not just because his stunning album was made here and features the best of Island talent (ahem) but the songs, the personality and the voice are classic.

2. Ane Brun, a unique talent, comes at music from a completely different angle, odd but beguiling.

3. Three Bonzos and a Piano, I’m hoping for a rendition of ‘My Pink Half of the Drainpipe’.

4. Diagrams, I loved Tunng, but think this side project might be even better.

Love this track Antelope (follow link to hear)

5. But my biggest top tip for this and any festival is to throw away your timetable, grab a drink and wander aimlessly. (We’d agree with that, it always works for us. Ed)
