Quay Arts to screen restored Glastonbury The Movie this July

Last updated:

Quay Arts is delighted to present a special screening of Glastonbury The Movie: 30th Anniversary Cut (12A) in the Anthony Minghella Theatre on Saturday 11th July at 7pm.

A festival before the smartphone era
This newly restored version of the acclaimed documentary revisits the legendary 1993 Glastonbury Festival, capturing a moment in British cultural history before the era of mass broadcast coverage, mobile phones, and modern festival infrastructure.

Shot in vivid Cinemascope by a team of young filmmakers, the film offers an immersive and unfiltered portrait of life at Worthy Farm – from dawn gatherings at the stone circle to late-night rave tents, wandering performers, and the spontaneous spirit that defined the festival’s early years.

Rebuilt in 4K
Rebuilt in 4K from original film materials, this 30th anniversary cut presents the most complete and visually striking version of Glastonbury The Movie to date, restoring its rich sound and imagery for the big screen.

With no narration or talking heads, the film allows the festival itself to speak – capturing the music, atmosphere, and communal experience in its purest form.

How to book
Glastonbury The Movie: 30th Anniversary Cut (12A) screens on Saturday 11th July.
