Repair Cafe saves hundreds of Isle of Wight items from landfill: Book your slot now

2023 has been a stellar year for the Repair Cafe, a community-driven initiative on the Isle of Wight. The team has recently released figures that highlight its impact over the past year.

Impressively, they have managed to see almost 200 items for repair, with a success rate of 64 per cent.

Community impact and environmental benefits
This achievement is not just about fixing things. Every participant has contributed to preventing approximately 404 kg of waste.

Additionally, these repair efforts have saved around 3.1 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

The Repair Cafe team extends heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers and customers who played a role in this environmental feat.

Looking ahead to 2024
The team is now setting their sights on making 2024 even more successful. They encourage the Island community to continue supporting the Repair Cafe.

By bringing items for repair, residents can be a part of this sustainable initiative.
