Families are invited to enjoy a full day of free entertainment and activities in Ryde on Saturday 29th August, as the town hosts its Children’s Day Carnival.
A full day of free activities
With a packed programme taking place throughout the day, children and families can enjoy carnival crafts, costume-making, drumming, dancing, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, a carnival parade and a magic show.
Children are encouraged to dress up in their favourite carnival costumes and join in the celebrations.

The Children’s Carnival Parade will be one of the main highlights of the day, bringing together young carnival-goers in their colourful costumes for a celebration through Ryde.

Huxley Magic Show – St Thomas’ Rest Gardens
The programme has been designed to offer families a variety of activities throughout the day, with something for children of different ages to enjoy. From creative workshops and storytelling to music, dance, magic and the carnival parade, there will be plenty of opportunities for families to get involved.
Ryde Town Council is encouraging families to come along, get dressed up and make the most of this free community event.

“We are incredibly grateful to all of our funders, partners and local businesses who have supported Ryde Carnival and Ryde Children’s Day Carnival.
“Putting on a programme of this scale, while keeping the activities free for families, is only possible because of the support we receive from organisations and businesses who believe in the value of bringing people together and creating positive experiences for children and families.
“We have a great programme of activities planned, with something for everyone, from crafts and storytelling to drumming, dancing, magic and, of course, the Children’s Carnival Parade.
“We hope to see lots of families coming along, getting dressed up and joining in the celebrations.”
