Around 300 residents have already shared their views but there is still time for residents to take part in Island Roads’ annual customer survey before it closes on 30th September 2026.
What does the survey cover?
The survey gives Islanders the opportunity to tell Island Roads what they think about the highway services it provides, from road and pavement maintenance to grass and verge cutting, street cleansing, traffic management, winter services and customer services.
With just under two weeks remaining, Island Roads is encouraging anyone who has not yet taken part to spend a few minutes completing the survey, whether they have positive feedback, suggestions for improvement or simply want to share their experience.
Ashman: We want to hear all of those views
Island Roads Service Director Steve Ashman said,
“Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to complete our survey. We really value the feedback we receive because it gives us an important insight into how people across the Island experience the services we provide.
“We know that people have different experiences of using the highway network and we want to hear all of those views. The feedback we receive helps us understand what is working well and where they may be opportunities to do things differently or improve.
“There is still time to take part, so if you haven’t completed the survey yet, please take a few minutes to tell us what you think.”
A busy year for the Island’s roads
The survey comes after another busy year for the Island’s highway network, with road improvements and resurfacing taking place in communities across the Island, alongside ongoing maintenance, cycle track improvements, pedestrian safety schemes and work to protect bridges and retaining walls.
Island Roads has also introduced a new website this year, making it easier for residents to find information, report issues and access services. The website was developed with input from local community groups to improve its accessibility and ease of use.
Isle of Wight Foundation and reporting tools
The survey also asks residents about the use of reporting tools such as Fix My Street and Island Roads’ wider contribution to the community including the work of its separately funded charitable foundation – the Isle of Wight Foundation, which has awarded more than £900,000 in grants to local community projects to date.

The survey closes at midnight on Wednesday 30th September 2026.
