Three Isle of Wight fundraisers are joining forces for an afternoon of community spirit, cake and charity at Parkside Pavilion, East Cowes, on Sunday 26th October from 12–2pm.
Each of them is passionate about meeting people at their most vulnerable and using creativity and compassion to make a difference.
Three causes, one event
Peter May will be raising funds for domestic abuse services, including the Hollie Gazzard Trust and the HollieGuard safety app.
As part of his challenge, he plans to take on a treadmill stunt – walking backwards while wearing high heels.
Award-winning fundraiser Christopher Hayton will be there too, crafting his popular pallet troughs in exchange for donations. He’s raising money for The Samaritans and hinted that fancy dress could well feature on the day.
Supporting new mental health initiatives
Also taking part are the Community Spirited Cafe team, who are raising funds for their newest initiative – a self-harm and suicide support group that launches on Monday 10th November from 5.30 to 7.30pm.
Profits from the event will be shared between the three causes, ensuring each one receives vital support to continue its work.
Cake, raffle and good company
Visitors can enjoy cream teas, homemade cakes and the chance to win prizes in a raffle, with tickets priced at £1 each.
Organisers are encouraging people to come along, help raise awareness, and contribute to local mental health support efforts.
They said,
“Whatever the weather, we will be there — please pop down and support us, as we will never get through all that cake between us.”
