Unrest at HMP Isle of Wight?

For the second time this week we’ve just had a call from Fire Control advising of a fire in a cell at HMP Isle of Wight.

HMP Isle of Wight:The first call, a few days ago was in relation to a fire in a cell in the Camp Hill section of the prison.

Today’s fire was in the segregation unit, in the Parkhurst section of prison.

Eleven fire-fighters responded
They received a call at 18.34 and two crew vehicles from Newport responded with eleven fire fighters.

Apparently the fire was out by the time they arrived, having been dealt with by prison officers.

It’s a long time since we’ve heard about a fire at the prison, so was somewhat surprising to receive two calls in one week.
