Vintage Parisian Book Bus set for Ventnor Fringe Square return

The Book Bus returns to Ventnor Fringe Festival this summer, bringing its distinctive 1935 Parisian charm to the Fringe Square.

You’ll find it parked in front of St Catherine’s Church from Wednesday 22nd to Saturday 25th July 2026.

Tom and Jen on the Book Bus

Over the years, this beautifully restored vehicle has become a much-loved fixture of the festival.

It offers great books for all ages and all budgets, spanning classics, recent bestsellers and everything in between.

What’s on board
Jen and Tom have carefully curated the collection inside The Book Bus.

Visitors can browse everything from rare and hard-to-find editions to well-loved paperbacks.

The worn original seats, Art Deco sconces and vintage route maps set the scene for browsing titles on travel, nature, history, art, plays and poetry.

The Book Bus will also sell prints by local artist, Debbie Chessell, during its stay in the Fringe Square.

Medina Bookshop will once again be joining The Book Bus in the Fringe Square from Thursday to Saturday with their pop-up Bookshop.

Special events not to miss
Local legend Laura Reid will debut songs from her work-in-progress musical about female characters from classic horror novels on Friday 24th from 8.30pm.

This event is free and unticketed, so you simply need to turn up.

Throughout the festival, the Fringe Square will host free entertainment, and you can check the Free Fringe section of the website for further details.

When to visit
The Book Bus will open from 10am to 5pm each day, from Wednesday 22nd to Saturday 25th July 2026.

Do pop along to see what you can pick up.

And whilst you’re there, don’t forget to search for the baby Book Bus too.
