The Workwear Island Charity Football Match 2025 was a huge success, raising an incredible £3,808 before the day on Just Giving – almost doubling the original £2,000 target – in aid of Mountbatten Isle of Wight, a cause close to organiser Ellie Moore’s heart.
The final total is currently being calculated and will be released soon.

A day of football, live entertainment and family fun
A day of Held at Brading Town Football Club, the event brought the community together for a full day of football, live entertainment and family fun – all in memory of Ellie’s late mum and in support of the Island’s hospice service.

A final score of 14–5
The main event saw Capital Jewellers’ White Team storm to victory over the PC Consultants Red Team with a final score of 14–5.

White team captain Kieran Allen was awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Other activities
Earlier in the day, a friendly and good-humoured Walking Football match took place, featuring players over the age of 60. After the main match, the next generation took to the Football Fun Factory pitch with a high energy children’s match, cheered on by a lively crowd.

Every player throughout the day received a medal, generously donated by Carl Wright of Wright Wight Discos, and several standout individuals were also awarded trophies for their efforts.
Live music
Derek Sandy lit up half-time with his signature high-energy set, keeping the crowd buzzing and seemingly encouraging the sunshine to stay out! The music continued all day with performances from talented piper Kieron Cooney and live band Catch 22, while Wright Wight Discos kept the energy high all day long as event compere.

Families were kept entertained with inflatables and games provided by Football Fun Factory and Isle of Wight Bouncy World Ltd, making it a truly inclusive day for all ages.

Moore: Truly grateful for everyone who came together to make it such a success
Ellie Moore, founder of Workwear Island and event organiser, said:
“Mountbatten Hospice has done so much for me and my family, and being able to hold this event in memory of my beautiful mum made it incredibly special.
“I’m so pleased with the huge turnout – we couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of our sponsors, Brading Town FC, the players, performers, all the local businesses involved, everyone who donated, and of course the wonderful people who came along.
“I feel so proud of our Island business community and truly grateful for the way everyone came together to make it such a success.”

Ellie also extended special thanks to Brading Town Football Club, main sponsors Capital Jewellers and PC Consultants, her father, and Zoe Brookes of Media Matters, for their unwavering support throughout the planning of the event.

Plus a huge thank you to Rahel Skeet of Skeet Shots for tirelessly capturing every moment of the day.
