A man in his 60s fell from an RS Elite class yacht at Cowes Week. Crew from another boat retrieved him and emergency services worked to revive him. Update: Sadly he's passed away.
Lendy Ladies' Day 2018 is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate hundreds of the country's greatest female sailors who make Lendy Cowes Week such a world-renowned regatta.
Cowes Sailability Club aims will be once again making it possible for disabled people and their families or carers to experience the thrill of a world-class sailing regatta from the water during Cowes Week.
As well as attending various events at Cowes Week, HRH The Princess Royal will also visit The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and the Cowes RNLI Stations.
Lendy Ladies Day will return to Cowes Week sailing regatta on Tuesday 7th August with a celebration of female talent on the water to inspire more women to take up sailing as a sport.
The Isle of Wight council used to lease the area to an events company, but the organiser of the world-famous regatta will now take responsibility for shoreside activities on the Parade and Esplanade.
