Inspired by Bristol's "Park and Slide", the giant water slide is coming to the Isle of Wight. First to Union Street in July, then Bestival in September.
Dust down your lilos, get your fancy dress thinking caps on, but most of all, make sure you clear the diary for 17th July because the Bestival Ryde Slide will be back in town.
Make a £5 donation (all of which goes to IW charities) and you'll be entered into the draw for a chance to win one of the 600 slots to go on the Ryde Slide on 17th July.
Everyone who entered the lottery already has their slot confirmed, so you can guarantee your slide on Sunday by donating £5 now or pay £10 per slide or £30 for a family of four on the day. All profits go to four very good causes.
The Wightlink Ryde Slide is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the summer on the Isle of Wight and returns to Union Street the day after Isle of Wight Pride.
If you've been looking forward to hurtling down Ryde's Union Street this summer on the water slide, you'll have to find another way to do it as the Ryde Slide is taking a year off.
The announcement was made following Saturday's AGM. Other events will take place throughout the year building towards a main Pride event in 2020. Cllr Love addresses the homophobic comments made on social media.
