Riders had to contend with slippery conditions during the fourth round of the Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club’s 2018 Winter Trials Championship held at Shorwell Chalk Pit last weekend.
The late Nigel Crouch received special recognition from the Auto Cycle Union (Southern Center) and was awarded The Vera Lambert Trophy for his many years of service and dedication to the sport at the Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club's annual awards night.
Weather conditions meant the planned ‘easier than normal’ course was more challenging than expected, but the Boxing Day trial went off well for Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club riders.
The ‘Matt Russell Cup’ is awarded annually to the best Intermediate rider at this trial in memory of the well-liked rider who lost his life aged just 29.
Storm Brian had left its mark on the course of the tenth round of the 2017 Winter Trials Championship at Hawthorn Manor Farm, Chale, making for some tricky conditions for riders to contend with.
