Young person interviewing an artist during Ventnor Fringe Festival

Brave Island has a great variety of new opportunities on offer for 14 to 25-year-olds

Brave Island, the dedicated platform that provides opportunities for 14 to 25-year-olds who are interested in the arts and creative industries (and even those might not realise they are), has been going from strength to strength over the last year.

Despite at least two Lockdowns since launching last year, those behind the scheme (the folk at Ventnor Exchange) have managed to keep the opportunities flowing, with a wide variety on offer.

Huge variety of opportunities
Some of the most recent opportunities included being artist liaison at Isle of Wight Festival, working as an Assistant Producer on a new theatre production, and on Sunday a group of young people from the Island were taken on a tour of the street art around Southsea and a visit to King’s Theatre to watch the ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’.

Latest opportunities
The latest opportunities include reviewing a comedy show, learning how to DJ and mix or working alongside and shadowing a professional photographer at a live music gig to learn more about shooting live events.

The opportunities are ever-changing so if you know someone who is 14-25 and up for something new, point them in the direction of Brave Island
