EastEnders actress and Isle of Wight director bring critically acclaimed one-woman show to Ventnor Fringe

Tutti Tutti Productions are delighted to announce that VOiD, written and performed by Sophia Capasso and directed by Bruce Webb, will be showing at Ventnor Fringe Festival later this month.

The duo, who met on set at BBC’s Eastenders, teamed up to debut Capasso’s show VOiD at Vault Festival 2020.

The fine line between hero and monster
The show, which looks at the fine line between hero and monster, received four star reviews and was described as “thought provoking-work that at its finest moments is completely riveting.”

After the turbulent events of the last year, and in light of the Sarah Everard tragedy, the team felt VOiD was more relevant than ever and knew Ventnor Fringe was the best place for it.

Webb: It’s brilliant to be back
Bruce, who used to curate the Island’s film festival said,

“To come back to the Ventnor Fringe with a play I directed in London is a dream come true.

“I was part of Ventnor Fringe when the Isle of Wight Film Festival was part of the line-up, a festival I founded and was director of for many years.

“I had many great memories of working in the Fringe welcoming hundreds of creative folk from around the world, so it’s brilliant to be back.”

Four star reviews
Sophia’s one-woman show VOiD premiered at the Vaults Festival in January 2020 where it received four star reviews.

Described as ‘an empowering and gut-wrenching drama’ the play was praised for its ‘confrontation of the criminal justice system’ and exploration of ‘psychological terror that leaves hearts racing to the rhythm of her words’.

VOiD at Vault Festival 2020 was Bruce’s theatre directing debut,

“Webb’s direction is fantastic, incredibly paced, full of vibrancy and depth, creating a darkly sinister atmosphere that twists and turns, continuously playing with the audience.”
