Further details will be shared on the Isle of Wight Hedgerow Group website closer to the date.

Why hedgelaying matters
Hedgelaying is a traditional countryside skill used for centuries to manage and restore hedgerows.

By partially cutting and bending stems, hedge layers encourage new growth while creating a living, stock-proof boundary that benefits wildlife and strengthens the landscape.

Competitions like this help keep the craft alive and highlight its importance in both farming and conservation.
