Riccardo Stanbridge: Five things you shouldn’t miss at Bestival

We’re always been really impressed with the energy and talents of Rick Stanbridge from The Mighty Chancers (amongst other bands that he regularly plays with), so were keen to hear his top tips on who not to miss at Bestival.

You can see The Mighty Chancers play the Bandstand on Saturday afternoon at 13.40pm (now changed to) Friday 3:30pm. Ed

1. Stevie Wonder: A school of melody & rhythm.

No matter what your tastes are, this man has influenced it in some way.

One of the last truly great living legends everyone should see once in a lifetime.

2. The Chancers: It’s our last gig here and since winning a spot in 2006, we never, ever have any press about it (apart from here) so I may as well plug it 13.40pm on the bandstand on Saturday (now changed to) Friday 3:30pm, but still on the Bandstand.

3. Michael Kiwanuka: With his BBC newcomer award and a lot of production by Paul Butler of The Bees, it will be a pleasure to see him performing with Island musicians

4. Southern Big Man: The Island’s buzz band of the moment and a welcome return of the spandex wearing Jono-Not-Bono accompanied by a BIG talent crew.

5. De La Soul: Me, Myself & I, Set Adrift on Memory Bliss this will be a set full of nostalgia smile.
