Round the Island Race: Entries open this week with early-bird discounts

The countdown has officially begun for this year’s Round the Island Race.

Entries to the iconic 50-nautical mile race around the Isle of Wight opens this Friday (23rd January 2026), with early bird discounts available for three weeks.

The race takes place on Saturday 11th July.

Building excitement
Dave Atkinson, Race Director, said,

“The excitement and anticipation is really building as we approach the launch of Round the Island Race 2026.

“We’ve been busy behind the scenes at the Island Sailing Club getting everything ready for launch, and now it’s time to build the momentum ahead of the race in July.

“Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or keen to take part for the first time, the race is open to all, so please join us and be part of a really special occasion.”

The route
Hundreds of boats are expected to feature in the annual spectacle, which starts at the famous Royal Yacht Squadron Line at Cowes, before heading west to The Needles.

The fleet continues around the Island, passing St Catherine’s Point and Bembridge Ledge Buoy, before heading into the Solent and back to Cowes to finish.

Early bird discount
Competitors who sign up early can take advantage of significantly discounted prices across boats of all sizes, starting from £140.

Entry fee prices will revert to the standard price on Friday 14th February.

Race weekend entertainment
A dedicated Race Village on Cowes Parade will open throughout the race weekend, with live music and entertainment running across three days, from Friday 10th July.
