Ryde Neighbourhood Board has doubled the amount of funding available through its community grants programme after receiving significant interest from organisations looking to improve life in the town.
At its meeting on 24th July, the Board agreed to increase this year’s fund from £100,000 to £200,000 giving even more community groups, charities, businesses and organisations the opportunity to secure funding for projects that will benefit Ryde and its residents.
The funding forms part of the Government’s Pride in Place Programme, which will see £19.5 million invested in Ryde over the next ten years.
What the funding supports
Applications of up to £20,000 are available for projects that support at least one of the following priorities:
- Improve public safety, health and wellbeing for Ryde residents
- Increase access to learning opportunities for Ryde residents
- Strengthen and sustain volunteering opportunities in Ryde
- Improve sport, recreational and cultural opportunities in the town
- Enhance Ryde’s natural and built environment
- Support local business and employment
Rachael Randall, interim Chair of Ryde Neighbourhood Board said,
“The response to our community grants programme has been extremely encouraging with a significant amount of interest from organisations keen to make a positive difference in Ryde.
“The Board wants to support as many high-quality projects as possible and that’s why we have taken the decision to double the funding this year to £200,000, creating even more opportunities for the people of Ryde to turn great ideas into reality.
“Pride in Place represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to invest in Ryde. We know there are passionate people across the town with ideas that can make a real difference and we encourage you to apply before the deadline.”
How to apply
The closing date for applications is midnight on Monday 17th August 2026 and those applying are reminded to read the guidance notes provided carefully and make sure that all supporting documents requested are attached to the application.
Applications will be assessed the programme criteria, with successful projects due to be approved by the Board at its September meeting.
Part of a bigger investment
The community grants programme is one element of the wider Pride in Place investment with further funding available to support larger projects as the programme develops.
