Support your local Village Hall, the heart of rural community life

England’s 10,000 village halls are at the heart of rural community life – providing a hub for social activities, classes and a whole range of local services.  They are a vital community resource and at the heart of many rural communities – so many people would be lost without them.

Every year Acre,  a national charity who support rural communities, hold a Village Halls Week celebrating what they do and in partnership with the organisations that support them locally.  Here on the island they are supported by Community Action Isle of Wight.

Mike Bulpitt CEO at Community Action Isle of Wight said,

“There are over 40 Village Halls on the Island run by volunteer committees.

“They are such important amenities for our communities and are used in such a variety of ways.

“We continue to support them as an organisation and encourage everybody to have a look at what is going on in the Village Hall near you.”
