Amy Jolliffe receives Mike Howley Trust grant to support her musical ambitions

Isle of Wight musician Amy Jolliffe is using money she was awarded through a trust to record her next single.

Amy won funding from the Mike Howley Trust, which welcomes young Island creatives to apply for up to £1,500 to help them realise their artistic ambitions.

Set up by the late Mike Howley, who was Director of Cultural Services for the Isle of Wight council, the funding comes from part of his estate which was put aside to benefit aspiring creatives.

Recording next single
Singer-songwriter Amy Jolliffe, is using the funding to record her next single over the course of the summer.

She has been working at Newport’s Empire Sound alongside producer and guitarist Dan Ashdown.

A new single would follow the release of Love Is, which came out in February.

Jolliffe: This wouldn’t have been possible without funding
Speaking about the funding, Amy said,

“I am so grateful to the Mike Howley Trust because I can finally release the songs that I spent so much time creating.

“As an emerging artist, it is hard to afford studio time, and this wouldn’t have been possible without funding.

“The next single is my favourite song that I’ve recorded so far and I am so excited to share it with the world.”

Joining Amy on the soon-to-be-announced song are Bobby Taylor and Matt Whillier.

Live appearances
Amy recently performed in the Platform One tent at the 2025 Isle of Wight Festival.

Later this month, on Tuesday, July 22nd, she’ll take to the stage with her band at Ventnor Fringe Festival.
