Charlie Dore, a much-loved Ventnor Fringe stalwart, will return to the Isle of Wight this autumn alongside Julian Littman of Steeleye Span.
The pair will perform at The Apollo Theatre in Newport on Sunday 2nd November as part of the venue’s Folk Acoustic Sessions, in support of Age UK Isle of Wight.
A career across stage and screen
Charlie Dore has had a wide-ranging career. She has worked in repertory theatre and drama, presented children’s television including Rainbow, appeared in films such as The Ploughman’s Lunch with Jonathan Pryce, and composed music for TV drama.
She has also been involved in stage and radio improvisation, and has written songs recorded by a remarkable list of artists including Tina Turner, George Harrison, Celine Dion, Martha Wainwright, Ricky Ross and Paul Carrack.

‘Songs for the Curious’
At the Apollo Theatre, Charlie will share Songs for the Curious, her latest collection of music that mixes and re-invents genres.
Describing her ongoing passion for live music, she said,
“I still have the touring bug – in spades.”
Charlie will be joined by Julian Littman, the celebrated multi-instrumentalist and long-time member of Steeleye Span.
Supporting older residents
The event will also support Age UK Isle of Wight.
Volunteers from the charity will attend the performance, offering advice and information as well as the chance to talk to those concerned about the well-being of older residents.
