Reform UK gains most committee chair roles on Isle of Wight Council (updated)

Reform UK now has 15 chair and vice-chair committee roles within the Isle of Wight Council, the most of any group.

Councillors David Llewellyn, James Whelan, Tony Barry, Frank Brown and Bill Nigh are among those who have been elected chairs of eight panels, including the children’s services, education, and skills and licensing committees.

The next largest group, Island First Network – comprising five former Alliance group members and new independent councillor Jules Hayward, has five chairs.

More than one role
Several councillors have been elected to more than one committee. Each role brings with it a special responsibility allowance.
