The 2026 Going Electric show is set to be the biggest display of new electric vehicles (EVs) the Isle of Wight has seen.
For those thinking that their next car will be an EV, there is no better place to be than at the free-to-enter Going Electric show on 19th July 2026 from 10am to 4pm at Newport Quay and Riverside.
What’s on show
Confirmed attendees include all the Island’s main dealers: Leslies and Premier Motors, Harwoods, Staddlestones, Central Garage and Van Mossel Esplanade, who between them will be presenting over 40 new cars from at least 15 different brands, ranging from the most luxurious cars on the market to the cheapest compact run-arounds – ideal for Island life.

Home energy on offer
As well as the automotives the Going Electric show returns with the Island’s best providers of home energy solutions.
If you’re considering fitting solar panels, a home battery or a heat pump then come and speak to local professionals – Island Renewables, Engenius and Solar and Renewable Installations Ltd.

Meet the exhibitors
Together with those providers we are welcoming Octopus Energy to the show to present their money-saving tariff options, EVO driver training helping the young and old into the driving seat, OGO, energy experts in off-grid and marine energy applications, EV charger specialists MB Electrical EV and lastly PolySolar who will be presenting their fascinating product range of flexible and transparent solar PV.
Rounding off the exhibitors we welcome back Green IW who’ll be on-site to give energy advice and explain what grant guidance they can provide plus Keert and CycleWight promoting E-bike deliveries and cycling more generally.

Expert talks, sponsored by Red Funnel
Besides the exhibitors we are delighted to announce the line-up for this year’s Red Funnel sponsored talks that will comprise three expert panel discussions:
First session, the commercial view: Simon Moye from Southern Vectis who will speak about the transition to electric buses on the Island’s network with Anthony Molley who is leading the electrification of the Co-op delivery fleet, who’ll be joined by Matt Whitaker founder of Keert the Island’s cargo-bike delivery service.

Second session, insights into the personal EV market: sees executives Daniel Hillier-Mears from Premier and Louis Vanassche from Leslies give us their views on where the EV transition is going.
Lastly, this year’s Big Picture panel will discuss what is on the horizon with energy in our homes, communities and globally. That panel will comprise Joe Redston of Raise Global, Colm Watling from Green IW and Stephen Cockett of Wight Community Energy.

Refreshments will be available on-site courtesy of the Riverside Centre cafe. Plaza Ices will be on hand with their eco-friendly ice cream van.
