This from Harry Eccles, The Bay. Ed
Seeing as I am standing to be a Green Party councillor, I didn’t plan to write any letters as the campaign is underway for all parties across the Island. However I have noticed a deeply concerning trend that needs calling out.
Last night my vote Green sign was vandalised in my front garden. This is an act of criminal damage, and is against the law. The Green Party is not funded by big donors, and all Green Party signs are paid for by the community. This is a direct attack on the community and on the democratic process itself.
What’s more, it’s not an isolated incident. Green Party signs have been stolen and vandalised across the Island. (All incidents will of course be reported to the police, alongside evidence where we have it).

This isn’t how you win in a democratic process, it is petty and disruptive. I hope the other political parties also call this out, and ensure it is not their supporters carrying out these acts.
If you want your party to win, then put forward a solid argument, don’t resort to petty vandalism.
