Two talented young dancers from the Isle of Wight are set to represent England on the global stage at the prestigious Dance World Cup Finals in Burgos, Spain next month. They join solo dancer, Jess Burfitt.
Anya Murphy and Kenzie Madden, both aged 11 and from Seaview, are students at the Hilary Hall School of Dance. The duo have earned their place on Team England and will compete in the Children’s 10-13 age category with their Ukrainian global dance duet.
120,000 dancers from 73 countries
The international competition, running from 3rd to 12th July, will bring together 120,000 dancers from 73 countries, making it one of the largest and most anticipated events in the dance calendar.

In the run-up to the finals, Anya and Kenzie have been busy fundraising to support their journey. They have extended heartfelt thanks to Ryde Vectensian Lodge, Vic’s Stores Nettlestone, as well as their family and friends for their generous donations towards travel and Team England kit costs.
The dancers are also being supported by Isle of Wight ferry operator Wightlink. Sam Woodman, Wightlink’s Partnerships Marketing Manager, said,
“We’re incredibly proud to support Anya and Kenzie as they represent the Isle of Wight and Team England at the Dance World Cup.
“It’s inspiring to see such dedication and talent from young Islanders and we wish them every success in Spain.”

The girls are now putting in their final rehearsals before travelling to Spain on Tuesday 1st July, where they hope to make the Island and their country proud.
