Pick Of The VentnorBlog Week

Pick Of The VentnorBlog WeekThe highlight of last week for us was The Wild Oats charity single launch gig.

There was an excellent turnout for the gig and we managed to get there in time to catch the end of Hugo Frusslinky’s set which attracted many tight trousered young things with a great selection of bed hair.

The brilliant Paul Armfield followed, before The Wild Oats hit the stage with a fantastic performance. Sales of the single were successful and if you haven’t been able to get yours yet, don’t forget they’re available from Waterstones book shop in Newport or Strings Guitar shop in Monkton Street, Ryde or through The Wild Oats website.

We published another two Shop Local podcasts last week, the first with Steve Hogg from Noah’s Ark and the other with Tony Norris from Norris & Knight, both businesses in Ventnor High Street. Have a listen to what Steve and Tony have to offer.

Finally, Alan Staley, head chef at The Royal Hotel managed to pick up Island Life ‘Chef of the Year’ award. Simon popped along to have a chat and we’ll be publishing the podcast later in the week.
Alan Smithee gave us his review of the Dan Damage Halloween Ball and we have one from the Buskers Banquet coming later in the week.

Isle of Wight Festival announced their new priority booking service and we have more details coming your way shortly of how this works.
