Just before 10am yesterday (Sunday) morning, Twitter friend, @iwgirlcyclist, tweeted out a snap of a swan roaming through Newport (see below).
Quite an odd sight, but nothing too unusual given the close proximity of the River Medina.
However, what raised a bigger chuckle was what she tweeted about 25 minutes later.
This time is was a tweet saying, “They had to call in the cops” accompanied by the main picture above.
The shot of a swan being herded by an Isle of Wight Police officer (with riot shield) spread through the social media networks like wildfire. It wasn’t long before it was being re-tweeted and shared on Facebook. Unfortunately many forgot to golden rule to credit the original source.
