The results of the recent election for Directors to the Board of Visit Isle of Wight are now available.
The organisation wrote to the 1,248 current Wight BID levy-paying organisations to invite nominations and to take part in the voting process.
24 candidates for 12 positions
Twenty-four candidates put their names forward to stand for the twelve available Board positions within the Island’s destination marketing organisation.
Voting ran from 20th to 31st October. Each levy-paying business held the option to vote for up to twelve candidates.
Businesses submitted 208 voting forms, which resulted in 1,463 validated votes.
Independent verification
Tourism South East carried out independent verification of the results.
They held full access to the completed voting information and confirmed the accuracy of the outcome.
Final confirmation next week
Those elected now need to complete Director consent forms and membership forms if their business is not already a Member of Visit Isle of Wight.
This step is a requirement before taking up the role.
Visit Isle of Wight will confirm the appointments at a General Meeting of Members on 14th November.

“I thank everyone who stood for election, those who cast their votes, and congratulate the 12 people who have gained the majority of votes.
