The team are crowdfunding to help with costs of travelling to Gotland next year to take part in the NatWest Island Games. There's still time to make a donation however small or large.

It will cost in the region of £1,000 per person to attend the Games, where competitors will have the opportunity to compete on the international stage.

Guernsey has been selected to host the 2021 Island Games and two new sports have been added to the 2019 Games, Beach Volleyball and Road Cycling.

Former Sandown Bay pupil, Jess Andrews, ran the race of her life over the weekend and qualified to represent Great Britain in the Rio Olympics this summer. Go Jess!

With the season now commenced, the Isle of Wight Special Olympics team are looking for volunteers and fundraisers.

The application closing date for support for talented athletes is 31 December. If you know a talented athlete let them know about this council scheme.

Not only has Bonchurch athlete , Nick Percy, had a strong season in the US, he's now been named Freshman of the Year. Well done Nick!

Nick Percy from Bonchurch, has been very busy training in the USA alongside Olympic champions and achieved some personal bests whilst competing out there.

Congratulations to Nick Percy from Bonchurch, whose development over the last few years should be an inspiration to us all.

The determination and commitment shown by Bonchurch athlete Nick Percy is fantastic to see. What a great role model he makes for young people on the Island.
