The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust is offering 15 people the chance to win a place on a guided tour of Howes Wood, a private woodland that is not normally open to the public.
What to expect on the tour
The free draw is part of the Trust’s activities for Red Squirrel Awareness Week.
The tour will take place on Thursday 8th October, starting at 2pm. Winners will explore the woodland with a guide, learn about the Trust’s work to protect the Island’s red squirrels, and may even catch sight of some of the wood’s resident squirrels.
How to enter
Entry is free and open until midnight on Sunday 4th October via a short online form.
The 15 winners will be drawn at random at 11am on Monday 5th October and contacted by email with full details.
‘A really special place’
Nicholas Gurney-Champion, Chairman of the Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust, said,
“Howes Wood is a really special place, and we don’t often get the chance to share it. Red Squirrel Awareness Week felt like the perfect moment to open it up and let people see first-hand the habitat that our red squirrels depend on. We’re delighted to be able to welcome 15 lucky winners.”
