Isle of Wight ceramic artist Sue Paraskeva will be showing her work in a new location for this year’s Isle of Wight Open Studios.
You’ll be able to find Sue and her work at Dotty in Ryde (7 Cross Street, PO33 2AD). The exhibition runs from Friday 23rd to Monday 26th May, open daily from 11am to 4pm.
A focus on porcelain and process
Sue Paraskeva’s exhibition will feature a curated selection of porcelain tableware, standalone vessels and new two-dimensional works.
Her practice combines traditional wheel-throwing techniques with experimental firing processes, including wood-firing and reduction atmospheres, to achieve distinctive finishes.
Many of her pieces juxtapose a glazed interior with an unglazed exterior, highlighting the material’s natural qualities.
International recognition rooted on the Island
Since relocating to the Isle of Wight in 2000 for a residency, Sue has developed an international reputation, supplying work to clients such as Calvin Klein Collection, the Design Museum London, and chef Tom Kerridge’s Hand and Flowers.

Despite global recognition, she continues to produce each piece by hand in her Island studio, maintaining a focus on craftsmanship and sustainability.
