This Saturday (26th July) sees two very different bands using music as a tool for wellbeing take to the stage at Ventnor Fringe Festival.
Organised by Music Practitioner Jess Ong, “Aspire Creative Hub presents…” is a showcase of local talent that will spread the word about the wonders that music can do for your wellbeing. Both groups on the line-up make use of the well-equipped community music facilities at Aspire Ryde on Dover Street, and use music to connect with others and improve their mental and physical health.
Rehab Ramones
Rehab Ramones are a three-piece punk band, performing the very best and catchiest classics from New York legends, The Ramones.
Rocking Recovery from addiction, using music as a way to connect with others, and spreading a positive message of a sober life, all three members are familiar faces on the local live music circuit, now back better than ever and excited to share this new project with audiences.
Re:Connect
Re:Connect is a group that was started to cater for musicians living with dementia, to do just that, reconnect them with their love of playing and with other musicians. It is now open to musicians over 65 without a dementia diagnosis, who might be struggling with poor mental health, loneliness, or who may have lost confidence and the opportunities to play and perform.

The band that has formed from this weekly group consists of participants, practitioners and volunteers, professionals from Punk, Rock, Jazz and EDM backgrounds, who have developed their own sound from their blend of influences, and can’t wait to entertain you.
Where and when
The show is at The Rotunda, Flowersbrook this Saturday 26th July, 2.30pm to 3.30pm, and is free to attend.
Although it is free, this event is ticketed due to limited venue capacity. Tickets can be reserved via the Ventnor Fringe online Box Office or by popping in Ventnor Exchange, 11 Church Street, Ventnor.
