There were smiles and celebrations at Medina College today as Year 11 pupils received their GCSE results. This cohort, who have faced challenges during their education due to the covid-19 pandemic, have shown resilience, determination and a real commitment to their studies.
Their results reflect not only their hard work, but also the progress they have made across a broad range of subjects.
Staff have gone above and beyond
Staff at Medina College have gone above and beyond to support pupils, offering extra revision sessions, tailored resources and individual guidance.
Their dedication has played a vital role in helping students achieve their goals and should be warmly recognised.
Onwards journeys
Many pupils will now continue their education at The Island VI Form, choosing from a wide range of A Level courses.
Others are moving on to apprenticeships and further training opportunities, both on the Island and beyond.
Bains: They have worked extremely hard
Headteacher Kam Bains said,
“Today has been a wonderful opportunity to share in the successes of our Year 11 pupils. They have worked extremely hard, and their results are a real credit to their efforts and perseverance.
“At Medina, we always encourage pupils to be the very best version of themselves, and today we are celebrating exactly that. I would also like to thank our staff and families for their invaluable support. We wish our pupils every success as they take their next
steps.”

The Island VI Form
For any Year 11 pupils who are still considering their options, a few places remain available at The Island VI Form – the HISP MAT’s dedicated post-16 provision.
With its strong focus on teaching and learning for 16–19 year olds, it provides the perfect stepping stone to university, apprenticeships or employment.
