We’re almost half way through the 2026 Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival, which sees more than 100 events take place over nine days.
There is still plenty to see and do, so if you haven’t taken part in any events yet, check the programme to see what takes your fancy.
A visit to Yarmouth
We took the opportunity to visit the Museum of Maritime Archaeology Centre in Yarmouth on Saturday.
It was great to hear all of their plans, which will see the former primary school transform over the next two to three years into an exciting and engaging museum for maritime archaeology.
Walking through Firestone Copse
On Sunday afternoon, we took part in a guided walk through Firestone Copse with Matt Huxley to hear more about the woodland management programme that will see some changes very soon – more to come on that later.
We’ve got lots of other events booked for the rest of the week and are looking forward to finding out more about this wonderful Biosphere Reserve that we live in.
Still to come
There is still so much to see and do over the next five days from walks and talks to workshops, yoga, beach cleans and film screenings.
Many (if not most) of the events are completely free of charge.
Check the programme to see what’s happening.
