Kelvin and Maggie Currie at Buckingham Palace

The Curries represent Vectis Radio at Buckingham Palace to celebrate Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

Every now and again you get moments in your life that take a while to sink in, around two years ago Vectis Radio was Awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, which is the equivalent to an MBE, two years on it still seems surreal.

We have waited patiently for the celebration that takes place for the winners and were told last year that it would not now go ahead because of Covid but earlier this year it was announced that it was back on.

No one deserves it more than The Curries
Maggie Currie and Kelvin Currie represented the Vectis Radio volunteers at the Buckingham Palace Garden party on Wednesday 11th May.

Only two volunteers per organisation can attend, we have 25 fantastic volunteers, but no one deserves it more than The Curries.

Hosted by Prince Charles
The garden party was hosted by Prince Charles and, despite the rain, everyone had a great time.

The tea was amazing and the 8,000 invitees enjoyed the day immensely.

A great experience and Vectis Radio was well represented.
