What to expect at the Mountbatten Conference 2026
Guest speakers and discussion groups will focus on how we can work together to deliver the best palliative and end-of-life care, while meeting the ambitions of the NHS ten-year plan and the emerging Modern Service Framework for Palliative and End of Life Care.
Around 85 per cent of Mountbatten’s work is in people’s homes, across large parts of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Who will you hear from at the 2026 Mountbatten Conference?
Mountbatten Hampshire and Mountbatten Isle of Wight CEO, Becky McGregor, will lead a workshop called The Development of Mountbatten’s new three-year strategy — your voice. She will encourage delegates to help shape Mountbatten’s future strategy.
Key-note speaker, CEO of Harlington Hospice, Jane Wheeler, will share her experience of leading a strategic review of specialist palliative care, which led to substantial recurrent investment from her local NHS integrated care board.
Nigel Hartley, MBE, will deliver the annual Frances Sheldon Memorial Lecture. A prominent leader in hospice care — and therapist, senior manager and retired CEO-turned consultant and mentor — Nigel, will draw from his 40 years’ experience.
Kathryn Bowden, Primary Care and Integrated Neighbourhood Working Coordinator, will share her focus on supporting and coordinating joint neighbourhood working across the city of Southampton, in line with the NHS ten year plan.
Mountbatten Hampshire’s community team leader, Hannah Bingley and Southampton Central Integrated service matron, Giselle Hudson will share their experience of working together to deliver care to people in the community.
Delivering end-of-life care to people experiencing homelessness, and those with drug and alcohol dependence, will be the focus of a presentation by Mountbatten’s Community Nurse Specialist, Annette Windmill.
