Residents and visitors are invited to take part in a free newsletter drop-in workshop with artist and printmaker Tommy Brentnall this August.
The sessions take place at Boojum and Snark in Sandown on Friday 8th and Friday 29th August, from 11am to 5pm.
Reimagining the town
The workshops aim to encourage people to think creatively about the future of Sandown.
Taking inspiration from Charles Darwin’s concept of survival of the fittest, Tommy will guide participants on a journey into their imagination to explore ideas for positive change.
From rewilding to innovation
Possible visions include transforming Sandown into a place where the landscape and people are rewilded, reconnecting with nature and learning to live in tune with the natural world.
Others might imagine it as a hub for green innovation, or even a Bluemind retreat, focusing on wellbeing and the calming power of water.
Watch the newsletter be printed
Drop in any time between 11am – 5pm and add your thoughts, predictions, concerns, drawings and ideas to the publication.
At 4pm, on each of the dates, the newsletter will be compiled and printed on the Boojum Risograph printer.
All ages welcome, all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Your ideas will also form part of a new exhibition opening in September.
Part of Sandown Survival
This workshop is part of Sandown Survival, the final Sandown Rocks artist residency supported by Arts Council England.
