Isle of Wight NHS Trust invites residents to Annual General Meeting

Isle of Wight NHS Trust has announced details of its upcoming Annual General Meeting.

The Trust is encouraging residents to attend, learn more about local services and put forward their questions.

Date and location
The AGM takes place on Wednesday 10th September at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.

It will be held in the Main Lecture Theatre of the Education Centre on Parkhurst Road.

Health Fair opens the day
Doors open at 8:30am with a Health Fair running ahead of the meeting. The fair will showcase a wide range of services connected with the Trust.

Visitors will be able to find out more about the IW NHS Charity, which raises money to support local patients and staff.

There will also be information on volunteering opportunities, including how to sign up for the Pets as Therapy Service. Community First Responders will demonstrate the basics of first aid and life support. Other stalls will focus on research, clinical strategy and organ donation.

Annual General Meeting
The formal meeting begins at 10am and is due to finish at midday. It will give the Trust a chance to set out how it has been working to improve health services on the Island.

Items on the agenda include updates on the partnership with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. This collaboration is aimed at developing and strengthening clinical services across both communities.

Chance to ask questions
The AGM will also provide time for questions and answers from the public. Anyone attending will be able to raise matters of concern or ask for more detail about the Trust’s work.

To make the session run smoothly, the Trust is asking people to submit questions in advance. This allows staff to prepare fuller responses and make the best use of the time available.

How to take part
Everyone is welcome to attend the Health Fair and the meeting.

Residents who wish to take part are asked to RSVP and send their questions to: [email protected].

The Trust says the AGM is an important opportunity for the community to hear directly about local NHS services, future plans and the progress being made.
