New figures published this week reveal NHS waiting lists on the Isle of Wight are down 2.17% since the General Election.

Meanwhile, the Hampshire and IW NHS Trust has achieved a drop of 3%.

The fall is part of a nationwide improvement that has seen more people receive care more quickly and reducing nationwide waiting lists by more than 300,000.

Rafferty: Labour is getting our NHS back on its feet
Responding to the figures, Island Labour’s Jock Rafferty said,

“There is an awfully long way to go but Labour is getting our NHS back on its feet. Waiting lists on the Island are down because Labour has delivered record investment and much needed reform – that means better care, better outcomes and fewer people waiting in pain.

“We know there is a lot more to do to deliver the change that Islanders voted for at the General Election – but today’s figures are further evidence that Labour is the only party that can get our NHS fit for the future.

“The Tories wrecked it and Nigel Farage talks about ending the NHS as we know it – but Labour is delivering for our health service.”
