Isle of Wight Studio School

The Isle of Wight Studio School was founded in East Cowes in 2014. It brought with it a new and totally different type of state school, offering rigorous academic qualifications in English, Mathematics, Science, Business and Enterprise and high quality vocational qualifications, such as Engineering, coupled with employer-led real work projects.

In April 2018 Inspire Academy Trust announced plans to close the school because there were “too few students choosing to study in Years 12 and 13”.

Parents, pupils and even the head teacher fought back.

Below are articles relating to the Isle of Wight Studio School.
