Five partnerships come together to showcase Isle of Wight’s Creative Biosphere (updated)

A new exhibition is showcasing the work of five partnerships that came together to explore the Isle of Wight’s biosphere in response to its UNESCO World Biosphere status, awarded in 2019.

The project, funded by Arts Council England, brought together secondary schools, artists, and cultural organizations to study the Island’s flora, fauna, landscape, people, and traditions.

The project included creative workshops, field trips, gardening, pop-up displays, exhibitions, and online blogs.

The resulting artwork includes films, costumes, sculpture, flags, murals, and trails that have been showcased both physically and online during the project. This curated exhibition is a celebratory event, supported by Interreg funding.

Organisers said,

“Some of the major outcomes include films, costumes, sculpture, flags, murals and trails that have been showcased physically and online during the project, and now come together in this curated celebratory exhibition (supported by Interreg funding).”
